How to Keep Your Bridesmaids Organized, On-Board and On-Time While Wedding Planning

They’re your sisters, your best friends, your squad. And while every bride loves her bridesmaids, sometimes a whole gaggle of gals can be tough to manage. With a wedding planning to do list a mile long, keeping track of your bridesmaids (and making sure they’re still as pumped for your wedding day as you are!) involves some extra attention and organization. Our experts have a few tips that will help you and your ‘maids stay on top of the details.

1. Start a Group Text

You should creat a group text with your bridesmaids. Make sure you kick it off by identifying who each phone number belongs to, then use it for quick reminders, questions, or just to say hi and build some excitement!

2. Keep Email Chains Organized

Instead of a single mass email chain for all things wedding-related, start a separate email conversation for each topic (and make good use of the “subject” line so everyone knows what you’re talking about!). That way a reminder about ordering bridesmaids’ dresses doesn’t get lost in an in-depth discussion of bachelorette party details.

3. Create Calendar Events

Did the salon give you a deadline for dress orders? Do you need to know who can (and can’t) make it to your bridal shower? If you’re coordinating a larger group of ‘maids, inviting them to events on their calendars will make sure everyone’s on the same page. The “accept” and “do not accept” options on the invites will help you track who’s going to be around, and those built-in reminders can be pretty handy!

4. Loop in Your MOH

Wrangling bridesmaids is one of a maid of honor’s top responsibilities, so get yours on-board to help you out! When you’re too busy planning your wedding to handle everyone’s schedule (as well as for events you’re not planning yourself, like the bridal shower!), she can stay on top of the communications and help keep everyone in line.

5. Make Time for Fun!

The most important thing is to make sure you’re setting aside time to maintain your friendships, too. Whether it’s a post-work pedicure, ladies’ night or an extra-long phone call on a Sunday afternoon, the more you show your bridesmaids some love, the more excited you’ll all be for your big moment.
