Everyone thinks of destination weddings as being weddings that you have to travel to a far away, tropical place but that’s so not true.  Today’s wedding proves that they decided to have their wedding 300 miles away from their home in a gorgeous backyard and it turned out great.  Check out the fabulous job that their photographer, Alison of Alison D Photography did.

From the Photographer: As I walked in the red door of the beautiful home of Charla’s friend who was letting her host her wedding there, I was in complete ‘awe’ of the colors and wonderful opportunities to take pictures at! I knew Leland and Charla had chosen the perfect location for their special day, even though it was a good 300 miles from home. With Charla’s family flying in from Indiana and Leland’s family driving from all across the west coast, not only was it a celebration of a wedding but a ‘every one gets to hold Lela’ day (their daughter).

Although Charla got professional makeup and hair done, she became the hairstylist for her twin flower girls; with Charla being Musical Theater Directer in Orange County, she was able to get it done fast!

Leland and his guys arrived shortly before the ceremony in a nice red mustang that would soon be decked out as the bride and groom ‘just married’ car. Leland warned me about their secret superhero shirts, and I couldn’t wait for them to show them off.

Leland & Charla’s day was absolutely beautiful. I’m glad I’m able to share it!
