According to Redbook, the cake was made by Icing Smiles, a nonprofit organization where volunteers bake cakes for families whose children have been diagnosed with critical illnesses. As evidenced by the below Facebook post, the cake’s recipient loved her heartfelt Frozen-themed treat.

I’m being asked by… everyone, what I think about the recent posts/articles about my Elsa cake and another baker’s Elsa…

The recipient of this seriously horrifying Frozen cake is never going to be able to let it go.
Reddit user OfficialBigHead posted the above photo with the caption: “the cake that was ordered and the cake that arrived.” According to The Daily Mail, a family was hoping to serve an Elsa cake at their child’s birthday party. Unfortunately, they ended up with a terrifying, misshapen mess.
The family wanted the cake to look like a cute design from McGreevy Cakes. However, it was another “unnamed baker” who delivered the version bearing no resemblance whatsoever to the Disney princess. Hopefully the cake still tasted good and the birthday party wasn’t completely ruined — though we’re guessing the child in question won’t be requesting an Elsa cake for next year’s celebration. As one commenter on Reddit put it: “Does the purchase price include three free counseling visits for the kids at the party?”
