Statement Bows
We’re an easy please when it comes to show-stopping dress features. Meaning, we were bound to swoon over statement bows, a serious trend in this season’s runway. But we also love how designers not only featured this statement on the back of the dress, but also incorporated expertly crafted, oversized bows on the waist, the sleeves, the train and just about anywhere possible. Elizabeth Fillmore, Anne Barge, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de La Renta, Peter Langner & Sachin & Babi are just a few of the designers who got this trend right. Major props to Sachin & Babi for this gown , which perfected the off-the-shoulder bow.
Romantic Sleeves
Many collections this season included barely there, form-fitting gowns, with cut-outs to the nines. We’re pleased to say that demure dresses with whisper soft sleeves also immediately grabbed our attention. There’s something about long sleeves that’s so romantic and even feels modern. 
The Plunging Neckline
Attention, brides. This is not your “G” rated wedding dress. The plunging neckline gown has definitely made a statement down the runway and was prevalent throughout many shows, from Lela Rose and Berta to Monique Lhuillier, Mira Zwillinger, Oscar de la Renta, Anne Barge, Sachin & Babi and just about everywhere else. We saw this trend presented in so many different variations including unique fabrics, patterns and updated silhouettes. It’d be too hard to choose a favorite, but we absolutely love this version from Mira Zwillinger. It’s feminine yet totally cool.
Pastels and Ombre
Pantone’s colors of the year–rose quartz and serenity–are among the most popular Spring wedding colors, so it’s no surprise these two standout pastels made their way onto the Spring 2017 runway. We’re no stranger to the pink wedding dress, having seen variations of pink gowns appear over the years and made famous by brides like Gwen Stefani and Jessica Biel. However, serenity blue is definitely more of a newcomer to the colored wedding dress trend. Rose hues stunned at Ines Di Santo, Naeem Khan, Rivini and Jenny Packham among others, with standout blue hues at Hayley Paige, Angel Sanchez, J. Mendel and Monique Lhuillier. Also must-mentions, a light and airy ombre style from Marchesa and the super bright prink ombre finale gown from Christian Siriano’s new collection.
Off-the-shoulder
The strapless gown has a new cousin, and it’s the off-the-shoulder. A slight interruption to the strapless domination year-after-year, the draped off-the-shoulder silhouette is updated and totally on-trend. We hope this silhouette becomes less of a trend and more of a mainstay, especially since we saw it make such an impact on this year’s ready-to-wear runway as well. Standouts including Sachin & Babi, J. Mendel, Watters, Wtoo, Galia Lahav and Isabelle Armstrong. We adore the playful straps on this Isabelle Armstrong, and it’s innovative yet simple silhouette.
