Ven and Adrian’s Garden Wedding in France

Ven and Adrian’s Normandy wedding was as romantic as you’d imagine: a garden setting, surrounded by rolling hills in the French countryside, and a beautiful estate for the guests to enjoy. We loved their personal touches (read below – we adore their “bouquet” idea!) and their emphasis on creating an intimate and elegant affair….

From planner Fete in France: “Beyond the sights of Paris – the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysées, the Louvre – France has amazing countryside chateaux, many just a short drive from Paris. It was in the lovely region of Normandy, in a charming château-manor where Ven & Adrian chose to celebrate their union. The Chateau de Bouelles was the perfect place for this romantic intimate wedding – surrounded by nature with views on rolling hills, and a pool, tennis court and petanque terrain to keep guests entertained.

Ven & Adrian’s wedding weekend started with a rustic chic rehearsal dinner under the arches of 100-year-old trees on the property. Fresh salads, a locally sourced hog (roasted on-site), micro-brewery beer and carefully selected wine were enjoyed as the sun went down. The wedding day was filled with special moments, starting with Ven putting on her breath-taking gown – a custom creation by her mum! The outdoor ceremony under an enchanting floral arch included a special request for guest participation. The bride and groom poured water into a large vase to represent their union. Then each guest was given a long-stem rose and one by one, they added their flower to the vase. At the end, the couple received the bouquet – a representation of each guest present to witness their marriage.

The ceremony was followed by cocktails in the formal gardens and dinner in the grand salon of the château. French touches included vintage candlesticks and placesettings, and a beautiful table runner full of fresh greenery and flowers.”
