Karelia is a expansive region in the northwest of Russian known for it’s vast and incredibly beautiful wilderness. Some of the images we found of the architecture and nature scenes made our jaws drop – you should really look them up! We were instantly captivated by Anastasia and Irakli’s anniversary session for the slight wind that gave tons of movement to the images by Sergey Veresk. From Sergey Veresk: “It was my old dream to shoot in Karelia. It’s a astounding region. In this place gentle plants and harsh rocks are beautifly combined. There is a lot of gray shades , rough forms but at the same time this place feels very hearthwarming.
My friends Irakli and Anastasia had their firs wedding anniversary so they asked me to photograph them in Karelia. I gladly accepted, cause it was very interesting for me to shoot this ‘contrasts’ on film. Despite the fact that we got a rainy day everything was very charming.”
